Senior Software Engineer (Big Data)

Location: Remote in the United States only; Boston or Raleigh preferred.

Salary: US$135,000–$150,000 annually, plus eligibility for a bonus or commission plan and equity grant.

What you will do

• Build, operate, architect, and evolve large-scale data pipelines on AWS.
• Collect, aggregate, and analyze security intelligence from multiple data sources.
• Process terabytes of data for the Security Ratings product and deliver ratings to more than 1,000,000 organizations daily.
• Integrate new data sources, surface features from existing data, and refine the proprietary rating algorithm.
• Collaborate with engineering, data science, research, design, and product teams.
• Improve data quality, integrity, reliability, and scalability through continuous incremental development.

Requirements

• Prior experience building and operating large-scale data pipelines.
• Strong proficiency in modern Java programming.
• Strong computer science fundamentals in system design, data structures, and algorithms.
• Experience delivering products with engineers, designers, and product owners.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
• Must be based in the United States.

Nice to have

• Experience with Python.
• Experience with Hadoop and Spark ecosystems.
• Experience with data lakehouse technologies such as Apache Iceberg.
• Experience with Elasticsearch or OpenSearch, CI/CD, and Kubernetes.
• Experience with modern AI development tools or in the IT security domain.
