Senior Java Software Engineer

Location: On-site in Cairo, Egypt; Belgrade, Serbia; Amman, Jordan; or Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina

What you will do

• Design, develop, maintain, and enhance cloud-based communication products serving millions of users.
• Build scalable solutions and contribute to technical policies, procedures, and assets for the cloud infrastructure.
• Support multi-cloud products and collaborate with internal technology, service delivery, and partner software development teams.
• Develop and deploy services using AWS technologies including EC2, SQS, S3, RDS, and Aurora.
• Perform database administration, query development, index optimization, and performance tuning.
• Collaborate with product owners, scrum masters, and developers using Agile practices, JIRA, and Git.

Requirements

• 5+ years of hands-on experience developing complex projects with Java and the Spring Framework.
• Experience with web development using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, plus RESTful API design and consumption.
• Practical experience with message brokers and queuing systems such as ActiveMQ, RabbitMQ, Kafka, Beanstalk, or SQS.
• Experience with caching technologies including Memcached and Redis, Python, Linux servers, Nginx, and Apache.
• Strong knowledge of software development lifecycle practices, distributed architectures, microservices, and cloud hosting such as AWS.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Software, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience; knowledge of SaaS/PaaS integration and telecommunications is expected.
