Software Engineer, Mobile (Android) (Android/Kotlin): Building consumer- and partner-facing safety features and reusable Android components for Grab's platform with an accent on device hardware integration, application performance, and intuitive interfaces. Focus on monitoring live apps, improving code and user experience, and collaborating on testing and CI/CD for products used across Southeast Asia.

What you will do
- Design and implement Android features for 's Integrity and Safety platforms.
- Build consumer- and partner-facing products, platforms, and features with Product, Design, Mobile, and Backend teams.
- Develop reusable Android software components for the platform.
- Monitor live application performance and improve code quality and user experience.
- Participate in technical and product reviews, code reviews, and knowledge sharing.
- Collaborate with QA on CI/CD and automated and manual testing.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of experience with native Android development and programming paradigms.
- Strong Kotlin and RxJava/RxKotlin experience.
- Knowledge of software architecture, design, caching, and data storage.
- Hands-on experience with unit and UI testing frameworks.
- Solid computer science fundamentals and familiarity with UI/UX design.
- Ability to work onsite in Petaling Jaya and collaborate with regional engineering, product, design, data science, and QA teams.
