TL;DR
Android Software Engineer (Kotlin/Fintech): Building and shipping native Android features for insurance, payments, claims, renewals, and financial services with an accent on clean user flows, performance, reliability, and product quality. Focus on integrating backend APIs, improving crash rates and responsiveness, and developing AI-assisted mobile experiences where they improve the user journey.

Location: Malaysia, Bandar Utama, Petaling Jaya, Selangor; hybrid with at least 3 days per week in the Malaysia office

What you will do

  • Build and ship native Android features using Kotlin.
  • Create clear mobile flows for insurance, payments, claims, renewals, and other financial services.
  • Work with product and design to simplify complex user journeys.
  • Integrate REST APIs and maintain stable, secure, and reliable mobile flows.
  • Improve app performance, crash rates, loading states, responsiveness, and memory usage.
  • Use analytics, user behavior, and production issues to improve the product, including AI-assisted experiences where appropriate.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of Android development experience with Kotlin.
  • Strong Android fundamentals and experience shipping production applications.
  • Knowledge of Jetpack, Coroutines, Flow, and modern Android architecture.
  • Experience integrating REST APIs and debugging production issues.
  • Strong understanding of mobile UX, usability, edge cases, and user flows, with high ownership and attention to product quality.
  • Strong English communication is required; English is the main working language across global teams.

Nice to have

  • App links, GitHub profile, screenshots, or examples of shipped work.
  • Experience with SQL or NoSQL and TensorFlow Lite for on-device inference.
