Security Architect

Location: Canada — distributed, remote

Base salary: 158,000–263,000 CAD per year

What you will do

• Review product architectures, security code, cloud integrations, and security-related design changes.
• Design and document enterprise HSM and key-management integrations and deployment processes.
• Assess third-party software, SaaS offerings, and their integrations across design and implementation.
• Lead internal and third-party security assessments and evaluate the impact of product and third-party vulnerabilities.
• Assess the security impact of emerging web standards and browser behavior changes.
• Support compliance, sales, customer security discussions, patent work, external technical materials, and development of new security features.

Requirements

• Advanced knowledge of applied cryptography, including HSMs, TPMs, and the key management lifecycle.
• Deep knowledge of web and browser technologies, including Same Origin Policy, XSS, CSRF, HTTP security headers, browser architecture, and JavaScript engine internals.
• Thorough understanding of network and operating-system fundamentals, including TCP, HTTP, TLS, DNS, firewalls, WAFs, DAC/MAC, and sandboxing.
• Experience with AWS security services and concepts, including IAM, Organizations, EC2, and VPC.
• Advanced C/C++ knowledge focused on secure coding, plus proficiency in at least one additional language such as Python or JavaScript.
• Minimum MSc, MEng, or equivalent; PhD preferred.
