Substation Automation System Engineer for HV & MV Substations (Cybersecurity) (HMI/SCADA and OT networking): Designing and delivering secure control, networking, virtualization, and HMI/SCADA systems for high- and medium-voltage substations with an accent on cybersecurity architecture, international standards, and system integration. Focus on configuring and testing ICS/RTU/SCADA systems, performing FAT and SAT activities, integrating communication protocols, and creating technical documentation for compliant automation projects.
Location: Hybrid role in Bogotá, Cundinamarca, Colombia

What you will do
- Design and deliver secure architectures for high- and medium-voltage substation automation projects.
- Develop architecture and virtualization concepts covering switches, RTUs, SCADA systems, and IEDs.
- Configure, test, and commission ICS, RTU, SCADA, and HMI systems in line with cybersecurity standards.
- Perform Factory Acceptance Tests and Site Acceptance Tests for ICS baselines.
- Create functional design specifications, cybersecurity baselines, test protocols, and other project documentation.
- Visit customers to assess existing solutions and recommend compliant automation and cybersecurity improvements.
Requirements
- University degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation, or a comparable field.
- 8+ years of professional experience engineering HMI/SCADA systems for control systems in energy transmission and distribution.
- Strong knowledge of cybersecurity regulations, standards, specifications, and secure architecture implementation for high-voltage substations.
- Deep knowledge of OT networking for substation automation architectures.
- Experience with HMI/SCADA applications and substation automation tools, including Zenon, Siemens, and SEL.
- Strong Spanish and English communication skills are required.
