Location: San Francisco, California; employees must be on US soil, including the 50 states, Washington, D.C., or US outlying areas

Salary: $174,000–$239,000 USD annual base salary for the San Francisco Bay Area; $194,000–$267,000 USD for California excluding the Bay Area, Colorado, Illinois, New York, and Washington

What you will do

• Own feature areas end to end, from technical design and implementation through testing, deployment, and post-launch monitoring.
• Design, build, and ship production-ready features for the enterprise access governance system.
• Improve correctness, reliability, performance, scalability, and security across the product.
• Resolve bugs and customer-reported issues quickly.
• Collaborate with Product Development, QA, and Site Reliability Engineering on scoping and deployment.

Requirements

• 8+ years of software engineering experience with independent ownership of complex production features.
• Experience architecting and delivering large-scale distributed systems for enterprise customers.
• Deep expertise in microservices, event-driven architectures, APIs, and data modeling at scale.
• Strong proficiency in Java, Kotlin, Go, or equivalent JVM/cloud-native languages.
• Experience designing systems for enterprise reliability, scalability, security, multi-tenancy, high availability, audit logging, and RBAC/ABAC.
• Must be located on US soil; no citizenship requirement is stated.

Nice to have

• Experience with identity, access management, or identity governance products.
• Familiarity with workflow engines, finite state machines, or approval and routing systems.
• Experience with enterprise SaaS platforms and cloud infrastructure such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
• Experience with modern observability tooling.
