Head of Deployments (Industrial AI)

What you will do

• Build, recruit, coach, and develop the deployment organization, including field deployment engineers, program managers, and future team leaders.
• Own the portfolio of complex deployments, including priorities, timelines, dependencies, risks, escalations, executive reporting, and retrospectives.
• Create a standardized deployment system with stage gates, readiness requirements, acceptance criteria, checklists, tooling, escalation paths, and playbooks.
• Define and manage KPIs covering cycle time, schedule adherence, backlog, quality, productivity, and attainment of customer success criteria.
• Forecast demand and capacity, allocate resources, plan hiring, and build a scalable model using system integrators and mechanical or electrical implementation partners.
• Govern strategic rollouts and partner with Product, Engineering, and Value Realization to remove deployment friction and validate customer impact.

Requirements

• Experience building and leading a deployment, professional services, field engineering, implementation, or similar organization.
• Experience hiring and developing teams that manage multiple complex deployments in parallel.
• Direct experience deploying technology on the shop floor of large enterprise manufacturers, including plant operations, engineering, quality, IT/OT, installation, validation, and adoption.
• Experience managing multi-site or global deployment portfolios with committed timelines, competing resource demands, and executive visibility.
• Strong resource and capacity planning skills, including translating rollout demand into staffing, partner, and hiring requirements.
• Willingness to travel internationally to customer sites, particularly for major rollouts, operating reviews, and escalations.

Nice to have

• Experience in process manufacturing, food and beverage, brewing, CPG, chemicals, pharmaceuticals, or similar continuous or batch environments.
• Background in industrial IoT, automation, manufacturing software, operational technology, continuous improvement, operational excellence, or digital manufacturing.
• Experience building partner-enabled delivery models with system integrators, installers, or third-party implementation providers.
• Fluency in plant-floor metrics such as OEE, yield, throughput, first-pass quality, capacity, utility consumption, material loss, and downtime.
