Project Responsibilities

Provide technical leadership and architectural guidance across multiple project streams
Support teams in designing, reviewing, and improving backend and frontend solutions
Participate in key technical decisions and help ensure scalability, maintainability, and alignment with engineering standards
Review existing implementations, identify technical risks, and recommend improvements or alternative approaches
Work closely with developers, stakeholders, and other technical leads to clarify requirements and unblock delivery
Mentor engineers, conduct design and code reviews, and support teams with complex technical issues
Contribute to technical documentation, architecture decisions, and continuous improvement of development practices

Candidate's Portrait

We are looking for an experienced Technical Lead with a strong Java/Spring engineering background and solid knowledge of software architecture. The specialist will work onsite in Saudi Arabia and support multiple project streams, joining different teams when technical leadership, architecture guidance, troubleshooting, design review, or consultation is required.
The candidate should remain technically hands-on and be able to understand existing solutions, challenge technical decisions, propose improvements, and help development teams implement scalable and maintainable solutions. This is not a pure Software Architect position - the person should combine strong engineering expertise, technical leadership, mentoring, and practical architecture knowledge.
The role requires excellent communication skills, maturity, autonomy, and the ability to work effectively with developers, stakeholders, product teams, and management in an Arabic business environment.

Must-haves

8+ years of professional software development experience
Strong hands-on experience with Java and Spring ecosystem
Proven experience as a Technical Lead, Lead Developer, or similar technical leadership role
Strong understanding of software architecture and ability to participate in architectural design and technical decision-making
Ability to review existing systems and provide architecture and engineering recommendations
Experience supporting several teams or project streams simultaneously
Strong understanding of Domain-Driven Design (DDD)
Good understanding of modular monolith and microservices architectures
Strong knowledge of Spring Boot / Spring Framework
Experience with Spring Data and Spring Security
Understanding of Spring Modulith concepts
Experience designing and implementing RESTful APIs
Strong understanding of distributed systems and application dependencies
Experience with relational databases and complex data models
Experience with PostgreSQL or similar SQL databases
Experience with Redis
Experience with cloud-based systems and cloud architecture
Experience deploying and operating applications in Kubernetes
Understanding of highly available and stateless application design
Experience with CI/CD and Git-based development workflows
Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and performance optimization skills
Understanding of SOLID principles, clean code, automated testing, and TDD
Experience with technical documentation and architecture/design documentation
Ability to conduct code and design reviews
Experience mentoring developers and providing technical guidance
Ability to communicate architectural and technical decisions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
English B2+ with confident spoken communication
Ability to work effectively in an Arabic business environment
