Head of Product Platforms - Technology (AWS)

Location: Hybrid working arrangement with 3 days in the office and 2 days working from home per week for full-time employees.

What you will do

• Set the strategy, roadmap, investment priorities, capability backlog, lifecycle plans, and value measures for Zurich’s technology foundations platform.
• Own foundational capabilities end to end, from opportunity identification and investment cases through delivery, adoption, service performance, modernisation, and legacy decommissioning.
• Build self-service capabilities, reusable patterns, accelerators, golden paths, simplified onboarding, and shared services for digital product teams.
• Lead the DevSecOps, quality automation, AWS cloud foundations, observability, and reliability agenda.
• Manage the platform investment envelope, budget, vendors, KPIs, and benefit realisation.
• Lead dedicated platform squads and align engineering, architecture, infrastructure, security, risk, suppliers, and regional platform teams.

Requirements

• Significant experience in product management or technical product ownership within technology platforms, shared engineering capabilities, or platform engineering.
• Experience owning a technology product or platform from strategy and roadmap through prioritisation, delivery, adoption, and ongoing performance.
• Broad knowledge of modern software delivery and platform engineering, including DevSecOps, CI/CD, Site Reliability Engineering, quality automation, and observability.
• Strong AWS cloud knowledge across cloud foundations, infrastructure, resilience, security, and cloud-native technology.
• Proven ability to lead through influence across product, engineering, architecture, infrastructure, security, and risk teams.
• Strong commercial and delivery judgement, including balancing customer needs, technology investment, delivery priorities, risk, and long-term platform value.
