FP&A Analyst

Location: Hybrid position in New Jersey, United States; occasional travel for meetings, training, or business initiatives may be required.

What you will do

• Analyze historical and current financial data to evaluate business performance, trends, and key drivers.
• Monitor actual results against budgets and forecasts, explain variances, and identify opportunities or risks.
• Support monthly, quarterly, and annual forecasting through data collection, validation, and consolidation.
• Build, maintain, and enhance financial models, dashboards, recurring reports, and management presentations.
• Track KPIs, operational metrics, operating expenses, and capital expenditures.
• Partner with Finance leadership and cross-functional stakeholders while supporting automation and process improvement initiatives.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Statistics, or a related field.
• 1–3 years of financial analysis experience preferred; strong entry-level candidates will be considered.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and Statutory Accounting Principles.
• Experience with financial statements, KPIs, budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and large datasets.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills, including financial modeling and presentation development.
• Strong analytical, organizational, problem-solving, communication, and prioritization skills.

Nice to have

• Progress toward a CPA, CFA, or advanced degree.
• Property and Casualty insurance industry experience.
• Experience with Workday, Adaptive Planning, or other financial planning systems.
• Experience supporting state expansion or regulatory-driven insurance initiatives.
