Software Development Engineer - ML Ops (US Federal)

Location: Reston, Virginia, United States. Hybrid Flex Work requires spending at least 50% of each quarter in the office or in the field with customers, prospects, or partners. U.S. citizenship is required for work supporting U.S. federal government contracts.

Annual base salary: $137,000–$205,400 USD for the primary location. Additional U.S. locations: $123,900–$222,000 USD.

What you will do

• Design, implement, and operate scalable microservices for the Machine Learning Runtime platform.
• Develop frameworks, automation, tooling, and developer-facing products that improve engineering efficiency.
• Build and maintain infrastructure automation, CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, and production deployment systems.
• Deploy and orchestrate containers using Kubernetes, Docker, service mesh technologies, and ArgoCD.
• Work with Data Scientists, ML Engineers, Software Engineers, and Tech Leads to define requirements and deliver end-to-end features.
• Provide rotating on-call support and proactively resolve operational issues.

Requirements

• U.S. citizenship is required; the role may require the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance at the TS/SCI with CI Poly level.
• At least 3 years of DevOps experience, including infrastructure automation and CI/CD pipeline development.
• Proficiency in Python and experience with Kubernetes and Docker.
• Experience designing distributed systems, microservices, RESTful services, service-oriented architecture, and system designs.
• Experience with Terraform, Git, Jenkins, ArgoCD, cloud platforms such as AWS or GCP, and monitoring tools such as Grafana.
• Strong technical documentation, problem-solving, collaboration, and communication skills.

• Active TS/SCI with CI Poly security clearance.
• Machine learning background and experience with enterprise SaaS products.
• Experience mentoring team members and leading technical initiatives.
• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
