TL;DR
Functional IT Analyst (Energy & Utilities): Bridging business needs and technology solutions for Energy & Utilities projects with an accent on Belgian energy-market processes, regulatory requirements, and business-process optimization. Focus on gathering requirements, mapping processes, collaborating with technical and non-technical stakeholders, and validating solutions through testing.
Location: Diegem, Belgium; resident in Belgium required. Hybrid work with up to 70% from home and up to 45 days abroad through the flex abroad program.

What you will do
- Gather and document business requirements through interviews, workshops, and user stories.
- Analyze market and business processes, use data to identify root causes, and find optimization opportunities.
- Collaborate with IT teams to design technology solutions aligned with business goals.
- Ensure solution alignment across business and technical stakeholders.
- Participate in testing and validation activities to support successful project delivery.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Business Analyst or Functional Analyst in the Energy & Utilities industry.
- Strong knowledge of the Belgian Energy Market, distribution grid operators, the energy supply chain, regulations, and the energy transition, including MIG6, GDPR, and CREG.
- Proficiency in business analysis techniques and tools such as UML or BPMN.
- Strong analytical and communication skills for working with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Resident in Belgium, with fluent English and at least a professional level of Dutch or French.
Nice to have
- Familiarity with Agile and Waterfall methodologies.
- Experience with data analytics, SQL, MS Access, or Power BI.
- Knowledge of Energy & Utilities IT systems such as Salesforce CRM, SAP IS-U, Central Market System, or Mecoms.
- IREB, ECBA, or CBAP certification.
