Senior Scientist, Analytical R&D

Location: Kaohsiung City, Taiwan; onsite work at the KSP-N facility, with approximately 10%–20% international travel.

What you will do

• Develop, optimize, validate, transfer, and continuously improve analytical methods for complex materials, mixtures, polymers, surfactants, and additives.
• Design and execute analytical experiments, interpret technical data, draw conclusions, and communicate findings through reports, presentations, and technical discussions.
• Establish method performance characteristics such as detection limits, accuracy, precision, stability, robustness, and measurement-system capability.
• Evaluate, qualify, maintain, and troubleshoot analytical instrumentation, including techniques used for surface and particle characterization.
• Collaborate with product development, R&D, manufacturing engineering, quality teams, external laboratories, and customers on new products and technical challenges.
• Prepare controlled documentation, provide technical guidance and training, and maintain safe, audit-ready laboratory and cleanroom practices.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related scientific discipline.
• At least three years of relevant experience in analytical R&D, product development, or a comparable laboratory environment.
• Experience developing, validating, or improving analytical methods for complex chemistries.
• Working knowledge of one or more techniques such as TEM, SEM, XRD, XPS, or ICP, with a focus on surface and particle characterization.
• Experience with experimental design, statistical analysis, measurement-system analysis, root-cause investigation, corrective actions, and controlled technical documentation.
• Professional proficiency in English is required. Ability to work safely with hazardous materials and in laboratory and cleanroom environments is also required.

Nice to have

• Expertise in colloidal and dispersion science.
• Experience qualifying new analytical instrumentation or transferring methods between laboratories or global sites.
• Knowledge of semiconductor materials, specialty chemicals, high-purity manufacturing, or contamination-control requirements.
• Experience with new-product introduction and collaboration with manufacturing, quality, commercial teams, external laboratories, or customers.
