Senior Scientific Director, Neurodegenerative Diseases

Location: USA - Remote; approximately 30% domestic and international travel required.

Annual salary: $265K-$300K, plus bonus or incentive pay.

What you will do

• Shape scientific strategy for the neurodegenerative disease franchise and translate it into integrated evidence plans.
• Lead flagship research programs from concept through execution, milestones, readout, and publication.
• Design and chair scientific advisory boards and leadership forums.
• Build expert networks across academia, consortia, societies, diagnostics, biopharma, and research partners.
• Evaluate external innovation and partnership opportunities and develop investment recommendations.
• Embed operational excellence, metrics, and AI-enabled practices across the scientific agenda.

Requirements

• MD, MD/PhD, or PhD in medicine, neuroscience, or a related discipline, with extensive post-qualification experience in diagnostics, biopharma, biotechnology, or academic medicine.
• Senior scientific, clinical, or translational leadership experience involving global expert networks and scientific advisory boards.
• Deep expertise in neurologic disease biomarker development from discovery through clinical deployment.
• Experience leading clinical strategy and evidence-generation programs in neurodegenerative disease or an adjacent specialty.
• Working knowledge of in vitro diagnostic development, FDA clearance, EU In Vitro Diagnostic Regulation, and evidence requirements for diagnostic claims.
• Strong scientific writing and communication skills for protocols, study reports, manuscripts, and executive materials.

Nice to have

• Clinical care experience with neurologic or neurodegenerative disorders.
• Experience creating biospecimen or clinical data repositories, multimodal data platforms, or real-world evidence programs.
• Experience with biopharma companion diagnostics, master research agreements, DBS, or equivalent operational excellence frameworks.
• Recognized standing in neurodegeneration through society leadership, consortium participation, guideline authorship, or invited presentations.
