FinCrime Analytics Engineer (Fintech): Building governed data models, high-volume ETL pipelines, and feature store capabilities for financial crime risk analytics with an accent on Data Mesh architecture, data integrity, and AI-powered agentic workflows. Focus on designing scalable distributed processing, simplifying complex data relations for SQL querying, and enabling reliable self-service analytics.
Location: Barcelona, Spain. Hybrid schedule with three days per week in-office: Tuesday, Thursday, and one additional day of choice; extra remote time may be requested.

What you will do
- Design robust data models and build pipelines for the Data Mesh layer within a federated data strategy.
- Ensure high-quality data collection and manage high-volume batch processing for dashboards and analytical models.
- Design and implement AI-powered agentic workflows for data transformation and exploration.
- Lead cross-functional initiatives and translate technical insights into data model improvements and operational actions.
- Develop optimized features for the feature store and simplify complex data relations for efficient SQL querying.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in data engineering or analytics engineering.
- Strong proficiency in SQL, Python, big data, distributed processing, dbt, Airflow, Spark, or similar technologies.
- Hands-on experience building ETL data pipelines.
- Fluent English is required.
- Proactive, curious, and able to take ownership of data strategy and cross-functional initiatives.
