TL;DR
Lead Business Intelligence Engineer (Power BI) (BI/Data Analytics): Leading the delivery and ongoing development of client BI platforms with an accent on Power BI architecture, Microsoft Fabric capacity management, deployment pipelines, and governance. Focus on defining reusable design patterns and standards, tuning DAX performance, automating migration and release practices, and scaling secure semantic models across multiple teams.

Location: Ukraine; work format: remote or office

What you will do

  • Lead cross-functional teams delivering BI products for defined business areas.
  • Own and evolve standards for Power BI design, quality assurance, testing, deployment, migration, and decommissioning.
  • Establish reusable design patterns, naming conventions, templates, and governance practices across semantic models.
  • Drive automation, platform adoption, release management, and continuous improvement across BI teams.
  • Define ownership and accountability across Product, Data Engineering, Modelling, Visualisation, and Testing.
  • Support the scalability, performance, security, and maintainability of BI solutions.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience across Power BI Desktop, Power BI Service, Microsoft Fabric, semantic models, and paginated reports.
  • 2+ years of leadership experience and strong cross-functional communication skills in English.
  • Experience with deployment pipelines, ALM, Azure DevOps, and Git integration.
  • Practical experience managing Microsoft Fabric capacity, including sizing, allocation, load monitoring, and cost optimization.
  • Strong knowledge of BI SDLC, architecture, star schemas, composite models, and DAX performance tuning.
  • Expertise in Power BI security, including RLS/OLS, tenant settings, service principals, and workspace governance.
