Data Management Engineer Trainee (AI/Data Engineering)

Location: Sant Feliu de Llobregat, Spain; part-time onsite role.

What you will do

• Design and support data models, schemas, and ingestion pipelines within the R&D Laboratory Information Management System.
• Maintain, optimize, and monitor data processing pipelines for chemical and biochemical assay data.
• Ensure laboratory data is accurately captured, integrated, organized, and available for analysis and visualization.
• Collaborate with Chemistry and Biology researchers and IT teams to understand data requirements and improve workflows.
• Support data management initiatives that enable advanced analytics, data-driven decisions, and future AI applications.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Chemical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Data Science, or a related discipline.
• Strong programming skills, preferably in Python.
• Knowledge of SQL databases; Oracle SQL knowledge is an advantage.
• Proficiency in Excel; VBA experience is highly valued.
• Fluent English is required; advanced proficiency is highly desirable.
• Interest in data management, data engineering, and scientific data analysis, with strong communication and collaboration skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with data management platforms or LIMS systems.
