Technical Investor (AI/Software)

Location: Singapore, Singapore; hybrid. Candidates currently based in Southeast Asia are strongly preferred, with openness to Sydney, San Francisco, and other key markets.

What you will do

• Source and lead investments in early-stage software and AI/ML companies across Southeast Asia and other Asia-Pacific markets.
• Conduct technical and commercial diligence covering product architecture, team background, usage metrics, and go-to-market potential.
• Develop investment theses across software segments such as developer tooling, SaaS infrastructure, and applied AI.
• Build AI-forward tools and workflows for investment decision-making and portfolio management.
• Engage technical founders and academic or research talent across Southeast Asia, Australia, the US, and China.
• Support portfolio companies with product reviews, talent introductions, customer access, and strategic initiatives.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or postgraduate degree in Computer Science, AI/ML, Data Science, Engineering, or another technical field.
• 2–8+ years of experience as a technical founder or early startup employee, software engineer, product professional, AI/ML or data science researcher, or technically focused investor.
• Strong ability to work with cutting-edge AI tools and platforms and advise the investment team as a subject matter expert.
• Founder empathy, strong product and AI/software ecosystem knowledge, and clear writing and communication skills.
• Regional exposure or networks across Southeast Asia, the US, Australia, or Greater China are advantageous.
• The role is based in Singapore and follows a hybrid workplace model.

• Experience founding a company or working closely with founders.
• PhD or another advanced technical degree.
• Writing samples, blog posts, or open-source contributions.
• Existing networks across key Asia-Pacific technical ecosystems.
