What you will do
- Collect data from member and non-member countries and convert national data into formats.
- Manage statistical databases, metadata, data coverage, methodological documentation, and international comparability.
- Validate data quality, coherence, accuracy, and internal consistency using automated checks and modern data-quality tools.
- Analyse country-level and cross-country datasets using advanced statistical and analytical methods.
- Develop reproducible and automated workflows, integrated datasets, analytical tools, and data pipelines for collection, processing, analysis, and dissemination.
- Prepare statistical publications, reports, charts, data files, and presentations for technical and non-technical audiences.
Requirements
- Advanced university degree or equivalent in statistics, economics, mathematics, engineering, or a related scientific field.
- Experience producing or using statistics, including work with sources, definitions, methodology, reliability, and comparability.
- Experience analysing complex macroeconomic or microeconomic datasets and presenting statistical findings to non-technical audiences.
- Good knowledge of statistical databases, information technology, and basic programming; experience with database design is advantageous.
- Good command of R, Python, and STATA is highly desirable; advanced Excel skills, including macros and pivot tables, are required.
- Fluency in English or French and knowledge of the other official language are required. A commitment to reach a good working level in the other language is expected.
Nice to have
- Experience with applied econometric techniques and policy areas such as trade, health, energy, education, environment, national accounts, or transport.
- Proficiency in MatLab or knowledge of EViews and VBA.
- Experience using AI tools for research and programming.
- Experience with private-sector databases such as Thomson Reuters, Bloomberg, or CEIC.
- Knowledge of additional languages.
