What you will do

  • Lead the design, development, and verification of spacecraft thermal control systems, including radiators, heaters, MLI, coatings, and thermal straps.
  • Develop and review detailed thermal models using Thermal Desktop and ESATAN, including 0D/1D thermal network models.
  • Perform thermal analyses across launch, cruise, lunar orbit, and surface operations, and correlate models with test results.
  • Plan and oversee component- and system-level thermal vacuum testing, including setup definition, data analysis, and reporting.
  • Integrate thermal requirements with mechanical, electrical, and systems engineering teams and contribute to design reviews.
  • Identify thermal risks, lead mitigation strategies and trade studies, and prepare technical documentation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or a related field.
  • 5–8+ years of experience in spacecraft thermal design, analysis, and testing.
  • Expertise with Thermal Desktop or ESATAN and proficiency in 0D/1D thermal network modeling.
  • Strong understanding of active and passive thermal control systems for spacecraft and surface vehicles.
  • Hands-on experience with thermal vacuum testing and correlation activities.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills in English; the role is based on-site in Luxembourg.
