Senior AdTech Engineer

Location: Remote within Romania; listed locations include Timisoara, Bucharest, Brasov, Cluj-Napoca, Constanta, and Iasi.

What you will do

• Build and scale low-latency, high-throughput back-end services and infrastructure for a production programmatic advertising platform.
• Develop proprietary AI agents for media buying, content tagging, and ad-request enrichment in collaboration with a data scientist.
• Integrate OpenRTB, DSP, SSP, and other third-party AdTech platforms and APIs.
• Own critical services or components end to end and apply architectural judgment in a real-time bidding environment.
• Lead technical standards through code reviews, peer reviews, mentoring, and guidance for other engineers.
• Work with the CTO on platform evolution, GitOps deployments, and careful improvements to a live performance-critical system.

Requirements

• 5+ years of advanced Node.js back-end engineering experience and 5+ years building APIs and third-party integrations.
• 3+ years building low-latency, high-throughput systems with millisecond response times and high request volumes.
• At least 1 year of hands-on production experience building AI agents, including LLM agents.
• 3+ years of TypeScript experience, with strong modern JavaScript considered as a substitute, plus 2+ years of React experience.
• 2+ years of experience with GCP or an equivalent cloud platform, and 2+ years with Kubernetes and Argo CD or equivalent GitOps tooling.
• Senior Engineer or Architect-level capability, including technical leadership, code review experience, and the ability to work alongside the CTO.

Nice to have

• Programmatic advertising experience with OpenRTB, real-time bidding, DSPs, or SSPs.
• Experience leading projects and owning service or component design and delivery end to end.
• Golang or another performance-focused language such as Rust, Java, or C++.
• Experience with Jenkins or alternative CI/CD tools, and Grafana or alternative monitoring platforms.
