Sr Accountant

Location: Hybrid in Collierville, Tennessee; candidates must live within 50 miles of the campus and work onsite several times per week. The position may be eligible for relocation.

What you will do

• Support the accurate and timely closing of the general ledger.
• Prepare and post journal entries, account reconciliations, fixed asset transactions, accruals, and budget variance reviews.
• Review leases and contracts and analyze assigned revenue and expense areas for internal reporting.
• Ensure account balances comply with GAAP and internal control requirements.
• Test and document internal control risks in accordance with Sarbanes-Oxley.
• Lead process improvement, regulatory compliance, and accounting policy initiatives while mentoring less senior staff.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or another related quantitative discipline, or equivalent related experience.
• At least four years of accounting experience in financial reporting within public accounting or a large corporate environment.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP standards and excellent analytical and financial analysis skills.
• Advanced knowledge of business software, spreadsheet applications, and mainframe or web-based applications.
• Strong verbal, written, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
• Residence within 50 miles of the Collierville campus and regular onsite attendance are required.

Nice to have

• CPA certification.
• Data analytics experience.
