Automation Engineer (AI)

Location: Bratislava, Slovakia; hybrid work

Base salary: EUR 2,100–3,400 per month, plus performance-based variable compensation.

What you will do

• Analyze business and underwriting requirements and design automated underwriting rules for client and market needs.
• Develop, configure, maintain, and document Magnum rules using visual rule editors and supported scripting capabilities.
• Design and execute unit, integration, regression, scenario, and user acceptance testing.
• Analyze defects, production outcomes, and underwriting data to improve rule performance and platform quality.
• Support production incidents, perform root-cause analysis, and implement sustainable corrective actions.
• Collaborate with underwriters, architects, product owners, engineering teams, and regional implementation teams while leading project delivery.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of hands-on professional experience.
• Experience in business rule development and testing, ideally with automated underwriting or similar rule-based platforms.
• Working knowledge of Java or JavaScript; SQL knowledge is an advantage.
• Understanding of SDLC and Agile delivery methodologies.
• Experience with version control, technical documentation, testing, production support, and governance.
• Ability to work in a hybrid role based in Bratislava, Slovakia.

Nice to have

• Experience with Magnum or similar automated underwriting platforms.
• Proficiency with UiPath or other RPA and automation platforms.
• Hands-on use of AI and Generative AI tools for development, testing, documentation, and engineering productivity.
• Proficiency with JIRA and Microsoft Office tools.
• Experience mentoring colleagues and driving continuous improvement across distributed teams.
