What you will do

• Conduct a literature review on business rule extraction and software modernization.
• Develop an AI-assisted pipeline for extracting business logic from legacy software.
• Extract business rules from a legacy or open-source system.
• Represent extracted rules as decision tables, specifications, or knowledge graphs.
• Generate executable specifications and automated test cases.
• Evaluate the correctness, completeness, and maintainability of the extracted logic.

Requirements

• Be in the final stage of a degree in Software Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Program Analysis, or an equivalent field.
• Be about to begin a 30 hp master's thesis project.
• Have an interest in the intersection of software engineering, artificial intelligence, and legacy system modernization.
• Pass security vetting under current security protection regulations; additional citizenship obligations may apply for positions requiring security clearance.
