Test Automation Engineer (QA Automation)

Location: Remote within the United States; candidates must maintain IRS access, active IRS MBI clearance, and current IRS-issued government-furnished equipment

What you will do

• Perform functional, regression, API, security, and automated testing across IRS applications and systems.
• Develop and execute test cases, scenarios, and scripts, including automated scripts.
• Prepare test data and configure test environments.
• Identify, document, monitor, and report software defects and testing results.
• Participate in code reviews, quality improvement activities, and Agile ceremonies.
• Collaborate with developers, testers, business analysts, and client stakeholders.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree and at least three years of software testing or quality assurance experience.
• Active IRS MBI clearance and current IRS-issued government-furnished equipment required.
• Experience with functional, regression, API, and automation testing, test planning, execution, defect management, and quality engineering.
• Experience with JIRA, Confluence, SQL, and Git.
• Experience working in Agile or Scrum delivery teams.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, written, verbal, and stakeholder communication skills.

Nice to have

• Experience supporting IRS applications or federal technology programs.
• Experience with 508 accessibility testing and security-related testing.
• Experience with continuous testing and continuous integration practices.
