Senior Accountant

Location: Asturias, Spain; onsite

Salary: €40,000–€62,500 annual pay range; 7% annual bonus target

What you will do

• Review payroll journal entries, general ledger interfaces, reconciliations, accruals, cash funding, and variance analyses.
• Oversee outsourced accounting service delivery, service-level compliance, process documentation, training, and operational continuity.
• Lead payroll process transitions, automation, simplification, SOP development, and process improvements.
• Support SOX controls, internal and external audits, statutory audits, and audit request coordination.
• Review revenue transactions and prepare revenue recognition, deferral, reversal, accrual, and related cost-of-goods-sold entries.
• Prepare reporting and partner with Finance, HR, IT, Treasury, Tax, Controllers, and business stakeholders.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Business or Accounting.
• 3–5+ years of accounting experience; payroll accounting experience is beneficial.
• Experience with SAP, Oracle, or another large-scale ERP system.
• Experience establishing and managing accounting processes and internal controls across multinational or multistate jurisdictions.
• Knowledge of EMEA, LATAM, or APAC payroll processes and related accounting activities.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and handle confidential compensation data.

Nice to have

• 2+ years of supervisory experience.
• Previous Big Four experience.
• Experience with outsourced service providers, service-level agreements, and compliance monitoring.
• Experience managing teams across different locations or remotely.
• Workday or other large-scale payroll/HRIS knowledge.
