Senior Control Software Developer (Robotics)

Location: Onsite in Tullamarine/Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, five days per week. Travel to hirify.global proving grounds may be required, up to 20%. Candidates may be willing to relocate to Australia.

hirify.global develops machinery and technology systems for mining and other industrial applications.

What you will do

• Develop robotic control software for remote-controlled machines used in underground mining.
• Research algorithms, simulations, models, and performance improvements for MineStar Underground systems.
• Analyze complex software, troubleshoot root causes, and fix bugs and architecture defects.
• Deliver validated software through code reviews, testing, and quality-focused development practices.
• Collaborate with architects, stakeholders, and cross-disciplinary teams in design reviews.
• Advance the robotic automated test environment toward fully automated Area Isolation Management System testing.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree and PhD in an accredited engineering field.
• 4+ years of mining controls software development experience.
• Strong analytical skills and competence in robotics and control theory.
• Advanced C++, Python, and object-oriented programming skills.
• Experience developing multithreaded embedded applications, with strong debugging skills.
• Ability to work onsite five days per week; visa sponsorship is not available.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of software engineering principles, design patterns, and test-driven development.
• Experience with interfaces, databases, microservices, middleware, and Linux.
• Strong communication, collaboration, independent working, and problem-solving skills.
