What you will do
- Develop, integrate, optimize, and support FPGA firmware for quantum sensors.
- Implement timing-critical digital processing blocks, including filters, decimation, and DSP pipelines.
- Build startup, calibration, operation, and monitoring routines for autonomous sensor operation.
- Integrate FPGA logic with SoC software for synchronized high-bandwidth data capture, DMA transfer, and storage.
- Develop simulation and hardware-in-the-loop testing for continuous integration and field deployment.
- Investigate system-level issues across FPGA logic, firmware, electronics, embedded Linux, and higher-level software.
Requirements
- Strong foundations in digital design and embedded systems.
- Experience with SystemVerilog, Xilinx SoCs, and Vivado-based FPGA development.
- Practical digital signal processing experience with filters, decimation, or related signal-conditioning pipelines.
- Experience with simulation and verification workflows such as cocotb, plus CI/CD processes for testing and deployment.
- Familiarity with C, C++, or Rust for FPGA data-path integration and DMA-based transfer.
- Ability to work with low-latency communications such as TCP/IP, SPI, I2C, or CAN bus, and collaborate with research scientists and engineers.
Nice to have
- Experience with embedded Linux, customized operating systems, or Yocto.
- Familiarity with GitHub Actions and cloud testing workflows.
- Experience with timing-critical control systems and high-bandwidth data capture or storage.
