Manufacturing Engineer

What you will do

• Improve safety, quality, delivery, and cost metrics across harvest operations through engineering solutions.
• Analyze machinery operations, tool designs, production methods, and machine controls to improve process capability, productivity, and scrap levels.
• Investigate safety and quality issues, identify root causes, and implement corrective and preventive actions with cross-functional teams.
• Lead capital expense projects from quotation through IQ/OQ/PQ, including budgeting and emergency capital execution.
• Develop and document automated processes, new equipment, and new or incremental products during transition to production.
• Improve preventive maintenance, reduce unplanned downtime, and lead continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline.
• 5–10 years of relevant engineering experience.
• Working knowledge and practical application of intermediate Lean Manufacturing tools in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience with SPC, data analysis, process mapping, PFMEA, process design, DFM, Cpk/Ppk, and/or DMAIC.
• Knowledge of materials through professional experience or education.
• Ability to work in a loud manufacturing environment and frequently perform standing, walking, data interpretation, problem solving, organization, and communication.

Nice to have

• Lean or Six Sigma certification.
• LSS Green Belt or Lean Practitioner training.
