Senior Site Reliability Engineer (Ads)

Location: San Francisco, CA, United States

Salary: $190,800–$267,100 USD base salary per year, plus potential equity and commission depending on the position offered.

What you will do

• Partner with Ads Engineering to improve the reliability, scalability, and operational excellence of ad-serving, auction, targeting, measurement, and billing systems.
• Design and maintain infrastructure, automation, tooling, and self-service capabilities for highly available advertising services.
• Improve observability through monitoring, alerting, tracing, logging, and dashboards.
• Participate in on-call rotations, lead incident response, perform root cause analysis, and drive corrective actions.
• Collaborate with software engineers from design reviews through production operations.
• Drive SRE practices including SLIs, SLOs, error budgets, capacity planning, operational readiness reviews, and advertiser-critical user journey measurement.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in Site Reliability Engineering, Infrastructure Engineering, or related roles operating large-scale distributed systems.
• Experience supporting high-traffic, user-facing production environments.
• Strong understanding of modern distributed systems, scale engineering, and cloud-native architectures.
• Strong software engineering skills in general-purpose backend languages such as Go.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex issues across applications, infrastructure, networking, and services.
• Experience with observability platforms, monitoring, alerting, incident response, automation, and operational improvements.
