Senior C++ Developer (Grid Automation)

Location: Kraków, Poland; hybrid work with 1–2 days per week from the office

Salary: 1,100–1,400 PLN per day on a B2B contract

What you will do

• Design and develop high-performance C++ cores and real-time software for grid automation and power-system infrastructure.
• Work on multithreading, synchronization, asynchronous I/O, latency, memory management, and system resilience.
• Optimize performance by profiling thread behavior, reducing lock contention and memory allocations, and improving scalability.
• Participate in architecture reviews, technical roadmaps, design documentation, refactoring, and legacy modernization.
• Modernize build systems and dependency management while maintaining Linux and Windows compatibility.
• Collaborate with engineering, product, and business stakeholders in an agile, cross-disciplinary environment.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in senior technical roles and a university degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field.
• Advanced proficiency in modern C++17/20, including RAII, smart pointers, STL, concurrency, and memory management.
• Strong experience with multithreading, synchronization primitives, asynchronous I/O, real-time systems, performance profiling, and low-latency optimization.
• Experience with CMake, Visual Studio, Linux, Windows, Docker, Kubernetes, and microservices architecture.
• Knowledge of unit and integration testing, software architecture, secure scalable design, and non-functional requirements.
• Practical experience with power-grid management, SCADA, IED, RTU, and industrial automation systems.

Nice to have

• Practical knowledge of C# development.
• Experience with .NET and Rust runtime services.
• Understanding of power-grid operations and applicable standards.
