AI Performance Modeling Engineer

Location: Mountain View, United States, or remote within the United States; hybrid work setup

Salary: $120,000–$275,000 for early-career, $175,000–$450,000 for mid-career, or $275,000–$600,000 for senior-career candidates, plus equity.

What you will do

• Translate AI accelerator architecture into performance models.
• Maintain modeling framework capabilities and releases.
• Automate the creation of detailed tensor layouts for frontier LLMs.
• Create tools, compilers, and automations integrated with the broader technology stack.
• Collaborate with ML, Software, and Architecture teams on experiments and workflows.

Requirements

• Strong background in performance modeling.
• Strong working knowledge of current LLM architectures.
• Experience with computer architecture, particularly AI accelerators.
• Ability to perform the role in compliance with U.S. export-control laws without obtaining a license from U.S. export-control authorities.
