Senior Data Scientist (Consumer Frontend)

Location: San Mateo, California, United States; office attendance is required Tuesday through Thursday, with optional presence Monday and Friday.

Salary: $263,670–$322,820 USD base pay annually, plus potential equity and benefits.

What you will do

• Define success metrics and measurement frameworks for information architecture, navigation systems, and core consumer experiences.
• Analyze user journeys, navigation behavior, user intent, content discovery, and friction across the Roblox app.
• Develop decision-making frameworks for evaluating trade-offs across user journeys, surfaces, and product objectives.
• Design experiments and apply causal inference and statistical modeling to evaluate platform-wide UX initiatives.
• Partner with Product, Engineering, Design, and Data Science leaders to shape product strategy and prioritize investments.
• Build scalable measurement systems and perform deep-dive analyses to monitor UX health, detect regressions, and identify opportunities.

Requirements

• Advanced degree in Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, Computer Science, Economics, or a related quantitative field.
• 5+ years of industry experience in Data Science or a related quantitative discipline, preferably with consumer products or applications.
• Strong analytical and technical skills with large-scale datasets and proficiency in SQL and Python or R.
• Deep expertise in statistical analysis, causal inference, experimentation, and measurement methodologies.
• Ability to independently lead ambiguous, high-impact problem spaces and develop novel analytical frameworks.
• Experience influencing strategy through cross-functional collaboration and communicating complex insights to technical and executive audiences.
