Senior Security Software Engineer, IAM (AI)

Location: San Mateo, California, United States; onsite Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, with optional presence on Monday and Friday

Salary: $251,090–$306,730 USD annual base pay

What you will do

• Design identity, credentials, scoped permissions, and session management for AI agents.
• Build scalable IAM solutions across on-premises and cloud infrastructure for humans, workloads, and AI agents.
• Develop authentication and authorization mechanisms for production workloads and services, enforcing least privilege.
• Establish and maintain a secure developer golden path with IAM controls enabled by default.
• Develop security services within the Roblox infrastructure ecosystem with end-to-end responsibility.

Requirements

• 4+ years of professional experience building scalable, distributed backend applications.
• Proficiency in at least one of Python, Java, Go, C++, or C# .NET.
• Understanding of AI tools, LLM capabilities and limitations, and identity and permissions for AI agents.
• Knowledge of REST APIs, design patterns, scalable containerized systems, and microservices.
• Experience mentoring or leading the technical work of other engineers.
• Experience with identity and policy frameworks, PKI, PAM, and RBAC, ABAC, or risk-based access control.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with OPA, Topaz, SPIFFE/SPIRE, or similar technologies for policy enforcement, workload attestation, and identity federation.
