Tax Associate

Location: Remote - United States; candidates must reside in the United States

Hourly base pay: $19.12–$28.49, depending on work location. Additional cash bonus, equity rewards, and benefits may apply.

What you will do

• Provide tax advice and explain tax and technical terms to TurboTax customers through virtual video and audio interactions.
• Prepare and complete federal and state individual tax returns, including full-service return preparation and signature.
• Calculate taxes and resolve product, software, and tax-preparation questions.
• Research government websites and professional resources to deliver accurate answers in everyday language.
• Document customer interactions and work toward company KPI and performance goals.
• Participate in pilot testing, projects, experience validation, and required training.

Requirements

• At least two years of recent experience preparing federal and state individual 1040 tax returns for at least 30 compensated clients or customers per season using commercial tax software.
• Active Preparer Tax Identification Number (PTIN) and working knowledge of Circular 230.
• Must possess or be able to obtain applicable state licenses, certificates, permits, or bonds.
• Availability to work at least 20 hours per week.
• Strong customer service, verbal and written communication, critical thinking, problem-solving, research, and technology skills.
• Must reside in the United States and have or obtain a dedicated hardwired internet connection meeting hirify.global security criteria.
