Location: Syracuse metro region or Onondaga County, New York, United States. The role will initially be work-from-home, with an expected transition to working in an office 2–3 days per week. Travel to surrounding counties for meetings and events may be required, including occasional evening or weekend events.
Salary: $74,090–$125,954 per year.

What you will do
- Support transportation demand management, transportation planning, sustainable mobility, data analysis, and program evaluation projects.
- Research transportation modes, technologies, policies, and programs and conduct market analysis.
- Develop technical reports, planning documents, guidebooks, training materials, outreach products, and client-facing deliverables.
- Build relationships with clients, stakeholders, community partners, and public-sector organizations across New York State.
- Facilitate meetings, workshops, presentations, interviews, and outreach events.
- Track schedules, deliverables, proposals, and project activities while providing technical and implementation support.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in geography, sustainability, transportation planning, urban planning, policy, or a related field plus 5 years of experience, or a master’s degree plus 2 years of experience.
- Experience in community engagement, transportation planning, public transportation, microtransit, micromobility, presentations, events, meetings, or program participation initiatives.
- Ability to analyze data, identify trends, synthesize findings, and develop practical recommendations.
- Strong written communication, facilitation, presentation, stakeholder engagement, organizational, and project coordination skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and clients.
- Ability to work in the Syracuse metro region or Onondaga County and attend an office 2–3 days per week after the initial work-from-home period.
Nice to have
- Knowledge of transportation demand management, public transportation, microtransit, micromobility, sustainable mobility, and emerging mobility strategies.
- Experience with survey tools, mapping tools, data visualization, or project management platforms.
- Experience translating technical information for public agencies, stakeholders, and community partners.
