Intern-Sample Coordinator

What you will do

• Enter and track standards, blank matrix materials, and samples in departmental systems.
• Open, label, ship, distribute, and dispose of samples and related documentation according to SOPs and regulatory guidelines.
• Review sample inventories, identify discrepancies, confirm sample receipt, and communicate with internal and external clients.
• Maintain accurate sample tracking records, logbooks, paperwork, and environmental monitoring documentation.
• Respond to customer inquiries, solve accessioning issues, and support after-hours sample receipt and environmental monitoring activities when certified.
• Maintain a clean and safe laboratory environment and contribute improvement ideas to the group.

Requirements

• Current enrollment in a Bachelor's degree program in Chemistry or Biology.
• At least three months of experience using computer and office applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Strong organization, multitasking, documentation, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Attention to detail, accuracy, confidentiality, problem-solving, and critical-thinking abilities.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a high-performance laboratory environment.

Nice to have

• Customer service experience and the ability to identify and communicate customer service needs.
• Proficiency with department-specific software and laboratory documentation.
• Final-year student status with expected graduation in July 2027.
