Frontend / UI Engineer, Associate (React)

Location: Madrid, Paseo de Recoletos 27, Spain; hybrid working model with regular in-person collaboration and work from home.

What you will do

• Develop modern, responsive, and maintainable user interfaces with JavaScript, TypeScript, React, HTML, and CSS.
• Shape the frontend architecture for Risk modernization, including component design, usability, performance, accessibility, and application consistency.
• Translate complex Investment Risk workflows into intuitive and efficient user experiences with business analysts, product stakeholders, developers, testers, and architects.
• Integrate frontend applications with Java and Spring-based backend services, APIs, authentication flows, data models, and asynchronous processing patterns.
• Create reusable UI components, patterns, and engineering practices that improve delivery speed, quality, and maintainability.
• Support the full delivery lifecycle, including refinement, implementation, peer reviews, testing, releases, deployment support, and post-release improvements.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of professional software development experience with strong frontend development expertise.
• Strong experience with JavaScript, TypeScript, React, HTML, CSS, React architecture, state management, routing, testing, performance optimization, and maintainable code structures.
• Experience integrating frontend applications with backend services, APIs, authentication, data models, and asynchronous processing.
• Practical knowledge of Git, CI/CD pipelines, code reviews, automated testing, agile delivery, and secure software development.
• Strong communication, collaboration, ownership, curiosity, and ability to understand complex business domains.
• Fluent English, written and spoken, is required. Experience using AI tools responsibly and applying critical judgment to AI outputs is also required.

Nice to have

• Experience with Java and Spring or Spring Boot, REST APIs, service integration, debugging, and end-to-end technical solutions.
• Experience with design systems or reusable UI patterns.
• Experience guiding developers, reviewing frontend designs, or leading a UI workstream.
• German language skills.
