Solution Architect (m/f/d) (Asset Management)

Location: Hybrid role based in Frankfurt, Germany, with regular in-person office collaboration

What you will do

• Translate functional and non-functional requirements into solution designs, building blocks, services, data pipelines, integrations, and user-facing components.
• Own end-to-end solution design and ensure alignment with architecture principles, technology strategy, security requirements, and design governance.
• Define approaches for data ingestion, transformation, management, and consumption in collaboration with data architects.
• Guide engineering teams during implementation and help them deliver designs as intended.
• Create architecture decision records, reusable patterns, decision trees, and practical guidance with Domain Architects and delivery teams.
• Evaluate and prototype emerging technologies to modernize the enterprise technology landscape.

Requirements

• Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Typically 5+ years of experience in software engineering, solution architecture, or a comparable technology role.
• Strong understanding of modern application architecture, distributed systems, APIs, integration patterns, and cloud-native design.
• Strong Java experience, including Spring Boot, J2EE/Jakarta EE, and modern JDKs.
• Experience with ABAC or RBAC controls and IAM systems, data architecture, data pipelines, and data governance.
• Confident conversational and professional German proficiency at B2 level, with the ability to negotiate, present, and collaborate with German-speaking clients.

Nice to have

• Experience with Google Cloud Platform, .NET, TypeScript, Python, or modern front-end and service development.
• Experience in financial services, asset management, or another regulated environment.
• Knowledge of TOGAF, SAFe, or comparable architecture and delivery frameworks.
• Experience leveraging AI tools responsibly to improve productivity and solve business problems.
