Digital Product Owner - MES

Location: Hybrid work in Szekesfehervar or Pécs, Hungary; most office-based roles are onsite three days per week. Up to 10% domestic and international travel is required.

Salary: HUF 18,000,000–26,400,000 gross annual base salary, plus possible variable compensation and allowances.

What you will do

• Own the global MES product vision, roadmap, priorities, backlog, and capability lifecycle.
• Drive the transformation from fragmented and locally customized MES solutions to a standardized global platform.
• Translate business goals, plant requirements, and manufacturing needs into capabilities, epics, user stories, and delivery priorities.
• Coordinate with manufacturing, operations, quality, IT architecture, project management, service delivery, and regional execution teams.
• Ensure MES capabilities support production execution, routing, genealogy, traceability, quality control, equipment integration, reporting, and shopfloor governance.
• Support rollout planning, migration, adoption, training, change management, risk assessment, and post-go-live sustainability.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in information technology, engineering, manufacturing, business informatics, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Strong experience with MES in a global, multi-site manufacturing environment and a deep understanding of production execution, routing, genealogy, traceability, quality control, and equipment integration.
• Experience with transformation programs, system replacement, migration planning, global rollouts, product roadmaps, requirements prioritization, and backlogs.
• Technical understanding of system integrations, data flows, enterprise applications, shopfloor connectivity, ERP, PLM, automation, reporting, analytics, and data platforms.
• Ability to coordinate global execution across multiple plants, regions, teams, and stakeholders and communicate with technical experts and senior business leaders.
• Excellent English language skills and familiarity with using AI to improve efficiency, problem-solving, and quality.

Nice to have

• Experience with SAP ME, SAP MII, SAP Digital Manufacturing, Critical Manufacturing, Siemens Opcenter, or other enterprise MES platforms.
• Automotive, electronics, or high-volume discrete manufacturing experience.
• Knowledge of Industry 4.0, digital thread, smart factory, IIoT, edge integration, and manufacturing analytics.
• Experience with REST APIs, OPC-UA, MQTT, Kafka, RabbitMQ, databases, cloud platforms, containers, high availability, cybersecurity, or enterprise architecture governance.
• Experience working with vendors, implementation partners, managed service providers, and manufacturing digitalization KPIs.
