Data Engineering - Associate

Location: Remote within the United States, with approximately 50% travel. Candidates must reside in AL, AR, AZ, CA, CO, CT, DE, FL, GA, IA, ID, IL, IN, KS, MA, MD, MI, MN, MO, NC, NH, NJ, NV, NY, OH, OK, OR, PA, TN, TX, VA, WI, or Washington, DC. The preferred location is the Northeast U.S.

Salary: $75,000–$85,000 USD per year, plus potential discretionary incentives and benefits.

What you will do

• Design, develop, test, and maintain scalable data pipelines and ETL/ELT processes.
• Support modern data platforms, data lakes, data warehouses, and cloud-native data integration solutions.
• Build ingestion frameworks for structured and unstructured data and perform transformation, reconciliation, quality validation, and performance tuning.
• Support migrations from legacy data environments to modern cloud architectures.
• Gather client requirements and translate business needs into practical technical data solutions.
• Document technical designs, architecture decisions, operating procedures, and development standards while collaborating with analytics, AI, business intelligence, and data science teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Engineering, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.
• 1–3 years of experience in data engineering, data integration, analytics engineering, software engineering, or a related technical role.
• Hands-on experience with SQL, relational databases, and ETL/ELT development.
• Understanding of data warehousing, dimensional modeling, and data quality practices.
• Experience with Python, Scala, Java, or another programming language, plus familiarity with Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud.
• U.S. work authorization is required; visa sponsorship is not available. Candidates must reside in one of the listed U.S. states or Washington, DC.

Nice to have

• Experience with Azure Data Factory, Microsoft Fabric, Databricks, Synapse Analytics, Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery, Airflow, or dbt.
• Knowledge of Apache Spark, data governance, metadata management, master data management, or data observability.
• Consulting, professional services, or client-facing delivery experience.
• Relevant cloud, Databricks, or Snowflake certifications.
