Staff/Principal Software Engineer (AI)

Location: Remote from any European country, including the UK; hybrid or on-site options are available at offices in Leuven, Amsterdam, Eindhoven, Zurich, Florence, Milan, and Bristol. Relocation is available to Italy or the Netherlands. Priority is given to candidates based in Bavaria, Belgium, or Italy.

What you will do

• Own the technical strategy and roadmap for a major area of the Voyager SDK application layer.
• Design reusable architectures for image pre-processing, post-processing, decoders, model deployment, and application integration.
• Integrate industry-standard model frameworks and define libraries for low-code and no-code model and dataset deployment.
• Develop metadata representations, model evaluation libraries, and visual inference-rendering tools.
• Optimize pipeline latency and throughput across heterogeneous hardware, diagnose bottlenecks, and build profiling frameworks.
• Set technical direction, mentor engineers, improve documentation, and represent the Applications team to stakeholders and customers.

Requirements

• BS/MS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent, with typically 8+ years of hands-on semiconductor or AI industry experience.
• Deep expertise in edge deployment frameworks such as OpenVINO or TensorRT, plus experience with OpenCL and Vulkan.
• Expert Python and C++ skills, with extensive experience using PyTorch and TensorFlow for AI application development.
• Experience with quantization, compression, pruning, transfer learning, and deploying end-to-end pipelines with quantized models at scale.
• Proficient Linux skills and practical experience with Jira, Git, GitHub, and agile development.
• Strong technical leadership, communication, prioritization, mentoring, and stakeholder-influencing skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with MLIR and ONNXRuntime.
