Digital Controls Testing Manager

Location: Hybrid role with home and office working; office based in Bristol, UK

What you will do

• Lead the Technology Controls Testing team and own the annual and monthly risk-based testing plan.
• Develop and embed COBIT-aligned testing standards, methodology, documentation and quality criteria.
• Oversee testing across access, change, incident, service continuity, resilience, supplier, data centre and platform controls.
• Drive automated control evidence and automated test execution across technology and transformation programmes.
• Produce dashboards, governance materials and senior-stakeholder reporting on control effectiveness, risks, themes and remediation.
• Partner with Technology, Risk, Operational Resilience and programme stakeholders to improve control design and testing scalability.

Requirements

• Leadership and line management experience in technology risk, controls, IT audit, assurance or a comparable environment.
• Strong working knowledge of COBIT and technology governance, control design, operation and maturity assessment.
• Ability to balance technology risk, operational resilience, client outcomes, regulatory expectations and delivery priorities.
• Strong analytical and data-led skills, including evidence interpretation, trend identification and action-oriented reporting.
• Experience producing reports, dashboards and governance materials for senior stakeholders and committees.
• Experience with data management, control evidence management and automation of control monitoring or testing.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of FCA expectations, operational resilience requirements, technology governance and risk management frameworks.
• Experience supporting large-scale technology change or transformation programmes.
