Principal AI Engineering Excellence

What you will do

• Lead the adoption of AI-assisted software engineering, modern tooling, and automation.
• Establish engineering standards, development practices, CI/CD pipelines, DevSecOps processes, and quality frameworks for AI solutions.
• Evaluate and introduce engineering tools, technologies, and methodologies that improve developer experience and delivery speed.
• Build reusable engineering accelerators, frameworks, templates, reference implementations, and best practices.
• Partner with Platform, Data Engineering, Product, Architecture, AI Science, and Engineering functions to improve the design, delivery, operation, and support of enterprise AI solutions.

Requirements

• Deep software engineering expertise with hands-on experience delivering production-grade software, AI, or data solutions.
• Strong understanding of AI-assisted development, modern software engineering, CI/CD, DevSecOps, automation, and cloud-native delivery.
• Experience improving engineering productivity through tooling, automation, standardisation, change management, and process optimisation.
• Strong technical leadership and the ability to influence engineers, architects, and technical leaders without direct authority.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and collaboration skills, with a focus on continuous improvement and engineering excellence.

Nice to have

• Experience leading engineering transformation, developer productivity, or software modernisation initiatives.
• Experience evaluating and deploying AI coding tools, developer assistants, and AI-enabled engineering workflows.
• Experience building reusable engineering frameworks, accelerators, or internal developer capabilities in large technology organisations.
