TL;DR
Master Thesis, 30 hp: HMI to Visualize Human-Autonomy Teaming (HMI/Human-Autonomy Teaming): Designing, implementing, and evaluating an HMI for visualizing team performance and collaboration between humans and autonomous systems, with an accent on user-centered design, measurement frameworks, and stakeholder-specific interfaces. Focus on developing interface prototypes, integrating a measurement engine, and evaluating teaming concepts in a manned-unmanned aircraft use case.
Location: Linköping, Sweden. The thesis project is intended for one or two students and requires security vetting; additional citizenship obligations may apply for positions requiring security clearance.
Company
is a defense and security company developing advanced systems for aeronautics, weapons, command and control, sensors, and underwater operations.
What you will do
- Design, implement, and evaluate a human-machine interface for Human-Autonomy Teaming.
- Investigate user groups and identify information needs for operators, researchers, and observers.
- Develop interface concepts that visualize team status, performance measurements, and teaming activity.
- Investigate existing team-performance measures and propose scoring frameworks for the interface.
- Integrate with or simulate a measurement engine that collects data, calculates metrics, administers questionnaires, and supports experiments.
- Evaluate the HMI and teaming measures in a realistic manned-unmanned aircraft use case.
Requirements
- Be in the final stage of a master's programme in human-computer interaction, software engineering, autonomous systems, artificial intelligence, or an equivalent field.
- Be about to begin a 30 hp master's thesis project.
- Interest in human-computer interaction, software engineering, systems engineering, autonomous systems, and artificial intelligence.
- Ability to conduct literature studies, user-centered design, software development, research, and evaluation.
- Pass the required security vetting; additional citizenship obligations may apply where security clearance is required.
Nice to have
- Experience with software development, web technologies, user-interface design, or data visualization.
Culture & Benefits
