Junior SAP Developer (SAP)

Location: San Jose, Costa Rica; the work model prioritizes in-person collaboration.

What you will do

• Develop, enhance, test, document, and maintain SAP applications and technical components under senior guidance.
• Build SAP solutions with ABAP, ABAP Objects, SAP S/4HANA, CDS views, OData, REST APIs, Fiori, and SAPUI5.
• Support integrations with external applications and cloud services, including SAP BTP initiatives and clean-core development.
• Analyze requirements, troubleshoot issues, perform root-cause analysis, debug programs, and implement corrective actions.
• Participate in unit, integration, regression, and user acceptance testing, code reviews, and technical documentation.
• Collaborate with consultants, developers, architects, project managers, and customer teams in multicultural environments.

Requirements

• 1–3 years of software development experience, preferably in SAP environments.
• Hands-on SAP ABAP or equivalent SAP technical development experience, with basic to intermediate object-oriented programming knowledge.
• Understanding of the software development lifecycle, debugging, testing, documentation, and source control.
• Strong English communication skills are required, both written and verbal.
• Bachelor’s degree or advanced university studies in computer science, software engineering, information systems, computer engineering, information technology, or a related discipline.
• Ability to work collaboratively with distributed teams and learn new SAP, cloud, and software engineering technologies.

Nice to have

• Experience with SAP BTP, CAP, SAP Integration Suite, RAP, SAP HANA, JavaScript, TypeScript, Node.js, cloud development, CI/CD, DevOps, or SAP Build.
• Exposure to artificial intelligence and generative AI technologies.
• SAP certifications or formal SAP training in ABAP, S/4HANA, Fiori/UI5, BTP, integration, or application development.
