Microbiologist I - Sterile (Microbiology)

Location: Houston, Texas, United States; onsite cleanroom laboratory work requiring full PPE and extended standing.

What you will do

• Perform routine microbiological testing, including sterility and endotoxin testing, in accordance with regulatory standards.
• Conduct environmental monitoring in cleanrooms and read and interpret environmental monitoring plates.
• Check sterility-test method suitability and troubleshoot laboratory procedure issues.
• Manage sample chain of custody, including aliquoting, storage, receipt, and shipping.
• Enter and verify laboratory data, maintain logbooks and documentation, and support data integrity under cGMP, cGLP, and SOP requirements.
• Support continuous improvement, clean laboratory operations, onboarding, and collaboration with Quality Assurance, Client Care, and other internal teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Microbiology, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
• Knowledge of microbiological principles, techniques, and laboratory protocols.
• Experience with laboratory data entry and laboratory information or data management systems.
• Strong attention to detail, organization, time management, and technical communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively while following procedures and meeting established timelines.
• Ability to work in a cleanroom wearing head-to-toe PPE, including a full bunny suit, and to stand for extended periods.

Nice to have

• Experience with sterility testing and cleanroom operations.
• Experience in cGLP- and/or cGMP-regulated laboratory environments.
• Critical thinking and advanced troubleshooting skills.
