Construction Project Manager (Energy Efficiency)

Location: San Diego, California, United States; candidates must be able to travel within Southern California, including Los Angeles, Riverside, Imperial, San Diego, San Bernardino, and Orange counties. Up to 25% local travel and a reliable vehicle are required.

Salary: $89,261–$151,744 per year.

What you will do

• Lead residential energy-efficiency and electrification retrofit and remodel projects from planning through completion.
• Manage contractors, schedules, budgets, accountability, quality, and project closeout.
• Prepare and finalize participant scopes of work and coordinate incentive layering, surveys, and reporting.
• Review residential building codes and conduct site visits, inspections, progress evaluations, and QA/QC activities.
• Communicate with homeowners, contractors, installers, and internal stakeholders while supporting program participation.
• Identify and resolve project issues and risks proactively.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent substitution of one year of related experience for each year of education.
• At least 5 years of experience in construction management, residential building retrofits, energy-efficiency upgrades, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, or a related field.
• Valid driver’s license and successful completion of a Motor Vehicle Records check.
• Reliable vehicle and ability to travel locally throughout Southern California are required.
• Strong contractor management, residential code compliance, communication, and project documentation skills.

Nice to have

• Bilingual or multilingual proficiency.
• Contractor State License Board license.
• Certification from BPI, LEED, USGBC, or another energy-efficiency or building-science organization.
• Familiarity with energy-efficiency and electrification construction practices.
• Degree in construction management, mechanical engineering, project management, or a related discipline.
