TL;DR
HMI Specification & UX Integration Specialist (Android Automotive) (AAOS, UX/UI, automotive): Specifying and integrating HMI concepts for Android Automotive series-production environments with an accent on interaction design, technical feasibility, and implementation handover. Focus on multi-display coordination, platform performance constraints, safety and cybersecurity processes, and validating HMI releases across multidisciplinary teams.

What you will do
- Take technical ownership of UX, UI, and HMI concepts through series-production maturity, with a focus on Android Automotive.
- Assess concepts for feasibility, safety, regulatory constraints, and implementation in production Android Automotive environments.
- Create and maintain screen specifications, flow and state charts, implementation notes, and Car App templates for development partners.
- Prepare and adapt prototypes, wireframes, and mockups for validation and Android development.
- Coordinate internal teams and external partners, manage feedback and prioritization, and track open items through release.
- Support usability checks, release reviews, workshops, documentation, and specification baseline maintenance.
Requirements
- Degree in Interaction or UX Design, Media Informatics, Industrial Design, Computer Science with a UX focus, or equivalent experience.
- Experience specifying complex UI/HMI systems, preferably in automotive series development.
- Practical knowledge of Android Automotive OS, embedded infotainment, input methods, driver-distraction requirements, and multi-display coordination.
- Hands-on Android development and debugging skills with Android Studio, Kotlin or Java, Gradle, ADB, logcat, Systrace or Perfetto, and emulator testing.
- Knowledge of AAOS app and system UI integration, lifecycle and permission models, OTA flows, secure boot, localization, accessibility, and performance constraints.
- Very good German and good English skills are required. Class B driving license is desirable.
Nice to have
- Experience with Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, Axure, InVision, Jira, Confluence, DOORS, Jenkins, or GitLab CI.
- Knowledge of ISO 26262, ISO/SAE 21434, Automotive SPICE, and HIL/MIL/SIL or in-vehicle validation workflows.
- Experience with automated HMI testing, GPU profiling, display composition, refresh rates, and latency mitigation.
